The Giver - Rosemary's Piano Theme Scene
Переглядів 834 тис.9 років тому
The scene in which The Giver plays the piano for Jonas, opening his ears to music. I do not take any credit for the making of this film. Everything depicted is from the motion picture The Giver by Lois Lowry

This song is technically Electro; However, I feel it could also be related to Dubstep or House. If you like the song, feel free to download it! Would also appreciate it if you left a comment on what you thought. Thanks for listening. Come back for more!
“Feelings are just fleeting, on the surface. But emotions, they are very deep, primal, they linger”🥶🗿🍷
내 유전자에 각인된 고대우주 문명의 기억이 무엇인지는 모르지만 매우 중요하고 분명한 목표와 이상은 확실해지고 있다.
Całe życie mam kontakt z mentorami. Pozdrawiam
Based on a book... but did they leave some key components out? Because the logic of this world, the way it works, is very silly.
After reading the book in 8th grade for a class assignment, I was intrigued. I'm now a highschool sophomore and have read the other three books. The ending to this series was beautiful, and I highly encourage everyone who sees this comment to look into the Giver Quartet.
I love that the actor is actually able to play the piano, they don't have to do a bunch of cuts only showing the actor's face and then a different person's hands playing the piano.
This probably my favorite scene in the whole movie
❤
this is the one of the only good things they changed for the movie
Jeff Bridges. This is the Dude. Such a versatile, excellent actor.
I like to think this became anthem of the nation once they came back.
Basque people
This makes me think of the gifts god gave us… emotions, music, joy, love 😢 thank you lord 🙏
READ THE BOOK FIRSTTT
Taylor swift❤
The ending in the book is actually very dark. When the past receiver was released all of the memories she held were transmitted to the populace. Major social upheaval. Pay attention to the giver's words when he sends Jonas out. There is no destination set and no future plan. The Giver's character shifts when Jonas approaches him about fixing the dystopian society. The ending depicts hypothermia. They were sent to die. The Giver's loyalty is actually unknown. We don't know if that barrier was part of the climate control or if it was a failsafe to keep the escaping memories out. The book doesn't give a happy or sad ending. It just ends at the cabin.
There are three other books one about the child Gabriel I think. It is subjective
I don't know why but this scene always makes me cry a river
I like the book better though
One morning, as chill as any other day on its first hours, I wake and get up to watch some morning t.v. like any other weekend. I choose my fav channel to watch something, whatever the local t.v. allows with its budget. It shows me an already started movie. I decide to watch, since the lack of colors like those old movies catches my eye, as well as the high definition images that tells me this is no ordinary black and white old movie, but one with a deep message. The film had no title, so I had no idea on what or where to search or how to share what I just saw. Years later, this movie came back in my memory, so I just search with my only plausible clue: "The Giver". Found out the movie's title, where to watch and what it's based on. This is the impact it had on me. Completely burned in my core memory.
“ Just like music there’s something else you can’t see with your eyes… something that lives deep inside you… something those morning injections take away.” That part of the scene always gives me goosebumps.
I recommend reading the book to feel the dystopic aura of this story
"Why would anyone want to get rid of this."
What song is he playing on the piano ?
It’s called, “Rosemary Theme”.
@@keanaemmons8316 thank you!
0:28 LMAOOO jonas sees the piano with the top up and is like "Table? ... but all the food would slide off 😦" comedy
This movie reminds me of what’s going on now in this world control and now they want Covid injections and blinded from the truth
Jonas- a table? all the food will slide to the floor.?
I know this is a hot take but I prefer this movie over the book.
While not accurate to the book I thought this was a decent movie
I watched this in class and a lot of kids were hyping up a kid to dance during the memory of music scene
This makes me oddly satisfying
The weak will choose to remove joy from their lives if it means removing sorrow as well.
Extremly underrated
I know the movie is not the best. But god this scene is underrated af.
I wish I could get this song
i didn't like the movie, but i wish this was in the book. Such a moving scene. Music is a gift
Might be one of the few instances where a movie adaptation does the book justice. I prefer the book ending but Yanno…Hollywood
wassup
This was always my favourite part
If blockchain technology devours the world, this will happen..
this movie genuinely makes me want to go out and live my life
this movie genuinely makes me want to go out and live my life
here in 2022 and this scene gives me chills unlike any other
I've seen this movie and this scene in particular numerous times and I just noticed that there's a harp in the room.
What is the first song played after he grabs his arm? It's one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard!
на русском красивее хоть я все и на английском понимаю но на русском другие ощущение
this piano is magnificent.. all these people that try to recreate this piece do not do justice. The pianist who did this piece for the movie is a legend with amazing timing... no one seems to understand how to remake it perfectly like this.
This a beautiful way to capture the emotions of discovering music the first time
All comments are from so long ago! I read the book at school and then watched the movie. It's so beautiful and really fitting for the theme ;)
our English teacher said that the movie was really bad after we read the book. boy she was wrong!
I watched this scene so many times and I’m learning how to ply this song
